Homesteads

Homesteads is a faction in eastern Thagryene that references a number of independent homesteads primarily run by Akiiogan people. Its government is a shell for the cooperation and protection of these otherwise independent homesteads. A homestead is a house and a farmland owned by a family. These individual homesteads are almost always self-sufficient, and produce a little bit of extra food taken by the government for revenue.

Homesteads is often seen as a Uthec protectorate. Although officially independent, the rights that homesteads have to their land is often enforced by a state military that is funded entirely by selling tax goods to Uthec countries, and these Uthec countries also often use their own military to protect homestead claims. The homesteads themselves are often under attack from the neighbouring Hughesmago and abroad pirates.
