Hebas Deryd

Hebas Deryd is an extremely isolated, hot, and dry desert covered by mountains from all sides.

It, along with other Mothnial regions, is famous for its silver ruins.

Sílath

The Shinkuçin are a subspecies of Çin originating in a small arid region in north Pthrisdon.

Throughout the past 600 years, the Shinkuçin have taken command of an ancient subterranean transport network connected to the silver ruins. They dub this the “Sílath”, however users of the transport network often refer to it as the “underways” or the “desert portal”, or something else more esoteric.

The Shinkuçin have a culture of delving into the dangerous silver ruins, dating back thousands of years. The Shinkuçin “Teclin” silver-wizards slowly arose in this society. They have the ability to interface with the strange terminals dotted across the silver ruins. They claim their access is incredibly limited, that the silver ruins and their mechanisms still largely pose a danger to any that enter. . The Sílath is the ultimate conclusion of this.

The Shinkuçin eventually discovered the Sílath, and the Teclin were able to conquer and control it to some extent. It is a fast-moving tube that runs through subterranean tunnels connecting Silver Ruins to one another. Not only does it connect those on the surface, but also the many that exist without surface features.

The Sílath’s first connections were between Aerlada and Pthrisdon in 2790. In 2840, a landmark establishment set up a Sílath connection in Varan Del, offering impossibly fast and incredibly comfortable transport beneath the desert.

The Sílath is only really used by adventurers and rich people alike. It is not large enough to carry an army, and the Teclin remain the only people capable of controlling it to any degree making access to the Sílath gated.

In recent years, Teclin and their explorers are trying to establish more Sílath connections in Kahklin and Ibtchilit. It has been stated that a potential future connection to Haerul is possible but exceptionally difficult.

The Sílath represents a unique exposure of the pre-historic society of the silver ruins. While the Teclin do not truly understand what they do, they are perhaps the only pioneers of the underbellies of the silver ruins.

Crécyvdaith

Crécyvdaith is the second most notable “thing” in the otherwise inhospitable and empty Hebas Deryd.

In the relative centre of Hebas Deryd sits a large Mylonite monolith. Around this monolith, Crécyvdaith sits. It is a towering silver ruin rivalled in height only by the Cube in Barogate.

Crécyvdaith is inhabited by a Fridnyrm called Vrubur. The volcano lords are most well known for their volcanic communities in Ichmenre in Barogate. They also have a large presence in northern Pthrisdon, which is where Vrubur claims to have came from. Vrubur is a “minor lord” in appearance, meaning that his volcano of origin is geographically smaller than his peers and that his own body is only about 3m tall (compared to a possible 15m for regular volcano lords and 50m for volcano kings).

Vrubur is an explorer of the silver ruins, and often gatekeeps them. He has challenged the Shinkuçin a few times and forced them to re-route the Sílath a few times.

Name Origin

Hebas Deryd is an ouranxised version of “Hebas Dirod”, which translates to “Empty sand”, which accurately describes the region.
