Fridnyrm

A Fridnyrm (formerly Volcano Lord) is an unclear species consisting of a handful of individuals. They are a luminary type species of person. There are 14 on Barogate in Ichmenre, who participate in The Kingdom of Ichmenre, and there are likely no more than 100 globally, littered around the other continents.

Regardless, fridnyrm share certain physical characteristics. They are humanoid beings whose bodies often consist of a combination of stone, fire, lava, magma, unexplained heat, and ash particles. Every fridnyrm is tied to a single volcano or a set of volcanoes.

Fridnyrm vary in size from about 3 metres tall up to 50 metres. They do age, however they are by far the longest living mortal creatures. They live for 4000 years. There is some confusion about this in lore as a Fridnyrm’s name is its title tied to a physical volcano. There have been 3 different individuals called “Crogaeth” (The King of Ich Mena Re) throughout history, however when a new individual takes up the mantle they are always a new creature from the volcanic depths that roughly looks the same and has the same height.

They are incredibly resistant to physical attacks, the limits of this being the actual destruction of their body material. The most reliable way of killing them is cooling their bodies down, but even this is harder done than said. They constantly produce their own heat with high potential outputs, varying between individuals. Some individuals, including Crogaeth, are hot enough to walk along the ocean floor with a thin layer of steam constantly being produced around them, meaning they never really touch the water.

Fridnyrm often brandish a unique weapon owing to a certain theme they subscribe to.
