Shildo

Shildo, (literally “Lifeland”) is the historic, geographical, geopolitical, cultural region consisting of the regions of Ralean, Terlaye, and Ereso, with the land occupied by Clan Bistcran often considered part of this as well. As a geographical land, Shildo is known for its greenery, its rolling hills, and sparse mountains. It has large rivers especially in Terlaye.

Shildo is best understood as a distinct geopolitical region. These three regions were often engaged in exchange. Bistcran and Sarel are often included due to their importance in trade.

Nater’s End

In discussions of Shildo, Nater’s End, or Nateregorna, is often mentioned. This is due to its location, historical significance, culture, and demography. Nater’s End sits at the very end of Nater’s River. The border of Ralean with Terlaye follows the Rullan river that joins with Nater’s River, and soon ends when the river meets the sea. The region of Ereso also has a border that stretches from some arbitrary point on the lake Daini to the end of Nater’s River. Because of these region boundaries, the end of Nater’s River is barely in Terlaye, and Nater’s End is a huge, sprawling city. As defined, Nater’s End sits on all three regions. This isn’t strictly true, though, as many people define that as Nater’s End grows, so too does the region of Terlaye to fit it within.
