Barogate
Barogate is the main region of the entire setting, where the human-like Muz live, and where the Wastes of the fiction’s namesake exists.
Regions
Barogate has two major divisions: the Wastes and the Lifeland. Although the division is supposed to be between an arid wastes and a wet lifeland, many regions normally considered part of the wastes are in fact rather wet. The better line of division is on culture and governance.
The lifeland contains the southern mega-region of Shildo, which consists of Ereso, Terlaye, and Ralean. It also consists of the western acidic rainforest of Kyeron, the more temperate northern peninsula and archipelago of Gazi Lale Darie, and the less attended Sarel.
The wastes are dominated by the arid desert of Kyenel and the unnatural ash-land named Llyhai. The regions Vugaix, Kusao, and Cronar are part of the desert of Kyenel, but in their separate regions due to distinct geography and flora. The waste’s wetter regions are The Heabe, Dithas, and Duela.
There are two major mountain ranges on Barogate. These are Gordolmonre and Ichmenre. There are also significant mountain ranges that are considered parts of other regions, such as the Ursan mountains and the Vanian mountains in Ereso, several Terlayan mountain ranges, the Sefare Eysenre mountains in Ralean, and the mountains of Dithas.
Scale

Here is an image of Barogate as a collage of my hand-drawn maps, overlaid on Earth, right next to Africa. It is around half the size of Africa.
Name origin
The continent of Barogate is based on the island of DeMoch, which is the largest island on the Kithral islands. Before the founding of the Tribunal of DeMoch in 1710. DeMoch is the original Korongan (as in the natives of DeMoch and not the Wastelife subspecies) name for the island. Before this agreement, the Kithrali nations each referred to the island in their own language.
Daklyn, landed in the western rainforest of DeMoch. This is where the Kithral Xi lived (the inspiration turned into the Ximuz and Kyeron). The Chi call the land “new homes”, following the Kithrali mass migration from the islands of Gazi. The translation for this is “baron gatef”, which was ouranxised by Daklyn into Barogate.
