Mothdao

Instead of revising for Web Engineering, I’m going to develop Mothdao.

Mothdao is a large continent west of Barogate, and equally as large. It has many regions, but Mothnial dominates the continent. It is a massive and extremely dry desert.

Demography

The [[Pri]] are the native inhabitants of Mothdao, a species of person created by the gods between -10000 and -7000. To this day, the Pri are still a large demographic.

Muz are another primary inhabitant of Mothdao, believed to have reached the continent around -4000. Mothdao-specific subspecies are known to the Barogatians, but are extremely rare and often not considered.

Other than these two primary inhabitants, there are also significant populations of Çin and Ews in certain regions.

Regions

The regions are generally divided into three groups. The northern Kahklin, Varan Del, and Ibtchilit are all part of Racum Tembusan. They are very isolated from one another. The southern Pzthrisdon, Aerlada, Dendrene, and Kab Synt are part of Racal Remporn. The deserts of Haerul, Hebas Deryd, and Asenhal are all a part of Mothnial.

Haerul

A desert region dominated by a long and large river called the Nila. The Nila’s tributaries originate from the various mountain ranges in Mothnial, it’s clean water originating from strange water-gates that are similar to those found in northern Kusao.

Haerul is well known to Barogate as the winds guide boats well from Haerul to Kyeron. It is famous for the Chakram, which carries cultural and political significance.

Demographically, Haerul is majority Muz, a Haerul-specific subspecies. There are also plenty of Çin, and small communities of Phax.

Asenhal

Asenhal is an orange desert. It is very uninhabitable. Despite this, small populations of Çin live here, making the most out of the desert ecology. There are many silver ruins present in Asenhal, which are the centres of Çin communities.

Hebas Deryd

Hebas Deryd is an extremely dry desert and the harshest climate on the mortal world. There are several silver ruins, but they only accentuate the harsh sun. Nothing lives in Hebas Deryd, and nothing survives moving through it.

That is, of course, all except the Shinkuçin, who have a long tradition of exploring Mothnial’s silver ruins and around 2800 conquered the Silath, which they claim is an impossibly old and fast tunnel network connected to the silver ruins. The Silath allows for travel underneath Hebas Deryd in a mere six hours from station to station. The Silath connects three specific points in Varan Del, Pzthrisdon, and Aerlada. The Shinkuçin claim they are working on opening up “stations” in Kahklin and Ibtchilit.

[[Kahklin]]

Kahklin is a semi-steppe primarily inhabited by Çin. It is geographically isolated from its neighbours, and is culturally very strange.

[[Varan Del]]

Varan Del is a temperate region inhabited by Pri. It is geographically isolated and known for its strange political system and history of interesting conflicts.

[[Ibtchilit]]

A rainforest inhabited by Pri. It is known to be an incredibly mysterious and dangerous place due to the tribal nature of its inhabitants.

Pzthrisdon

A highly mountainous but otherwise survivable region primarily inhabited by Pri. It has a well developed military culture and is host to a few volcano lords and silver ruins.

Aerlada

A well known region of Mothdao due to its several migrations to Ereso. It is generally quite temperate, but devolves into a wetland further downstream. It’s rivers are numerous, large, and famous. The region’s geography is often described as a “river land”. It is primarily inhabited by a unique Muz subspecies, but has a large Pri population.

[[Dendrene]]

A green and hilly region very geographically similar to upper Aerlada, separated as a region due to culture and history. It is majority Pri and has some Ews pockets.

Kab Synt

I’m not entirely sure what to do with Kab Synt. On one hand, I want it to be an Ews-majority region, but I don’t want it all to be Ews because it would be much larger than Codia on Anula. Perhaps Kab Synt’s inner land is deforested and the Ews pockets resemble that of the im-gen map of Kab Synt. This would kindly let the Ews pockets not be larger than Codia, but still significant.

Name Origin

Barogate and Anula are two continents whose shape and names are very clearly based on Adal and DeMoch, but Mothdao has no clear paralel. Its shape is loosely based on a reversed version of the Supreme continent with Ouranx and Monchal missing, and Sauf Wyn butchered. The name comes from ‘Mothan Dado’ which is literally ‘Big other land’.
