Cronar

Cronar is a lowland desert region (compared to Kyenel which is an average of about 200 metres higher) with almost infinitely more water than Kyenel. It is coastal, and unlike Kyenel/s coastal regions these coastal regions are actually semi-arid and inhabitable. The [[Coesgan#Korongan]] are the people living in Cronar, although they and the [[Coesgan#Akiiogan]] are part of the Gan people who originally came to Barogate from a mysterious continent called Annwvyn somewhere across the Rahoamor.

Geography

Cronar only consists of 3 geographically distinct regions. In terms of climate, Cronar is extremely hot and close to the equator. It receives the same amount of rain as Kusao, that is to say very little and all deposited at once by freak and severe storms coming from Rahoamor. These storms are seen as the major contributors to oasis water, which tends to drain over time somewhat jeopardising settlements build around these oasis when storms are unusually far between.

Oasis Desert

The Oasis Desert is a sandy desert like Kyenel, with the only difference in geography being the infrequent oases that litter it. Settlements on these oasis rely on deep groundwater wells for a constant but low water supply, and modernised irrigation systems that use as little water as possible while also growing special plants that manage to capture the little humidity from the air. Certain flora in these areas are capable of creating water through an explosive process. There are a few towns in this area and one singular city surviving on a large groundwater basin that actually holds filtered seawater that’s seeped in from Rahoamor.

Loam Coast

Sand on the coast has turned into a sandy loam which is perfectly fertile for agriculture. This topsoil is responsible for half of Cronar’s population. While large towns are more common in the desert, this is only because they need to be collected around the oasis. Settlement on the Loam coast and the Alluvial coast are dispersed and usually split between agricultural town centres.

Alludwathium

Alludwathium is a coast of alluvial soil instead of loamy soil. This effectively makes up the other half of Cronar’s population, with agriculture less frequent but more intensive. Wild areas are much more common on this coast, which is generally attributed to the dangers of being situated next to Rahoamor, a generally angry sea.

Fauna

Character Animal: Usgrous Fox

Cronar has its own version of the Fennec fox native to the oasis desert. Certain breeds are also native to the other geographic regions with colours to match the soils of their native area. The fox represents the more recreational side of Cronar’s cultures. Traditionally obsessed with craftsmanship and strength, the Fennec fox is revered for its playfulness and careful instinctually. They are very common in towns and cities with specific domesticated breeds basically just being cats.

Name Origin

Cronar is based on the lands of Diros on DeMoch. When Daklyn visited the area, most if not all of it was controlled by a kingdom called “Kan-Koronor”. The land was (and still is by some) called ‘Hakuhasahako’. Daklyn used the name of the kingdom, morphing it into “Cronar” and directly used the name of the kingdom in his work as an ancient precursor kingdom.
