Gazi Lale Darie
Gazi Lale Darie contains three distinct subregions in its title. Gazi is the northmost island chain, Lale is the central island chain, and Darie is the mainland. It’s main inhabitants, the Domuz are semi-aquatic, and have constructed several underwater settlements.
Geography and Climate
Gazi Lale Darie used to be a wet temperate forest, but it is completely developed into a modern agricultural landscape. Darie is very flat with semi-mountainous and hilly regions in the interior, adjacent to Gordolmonre. Islands are largely the eroded tops of mountain systems. They are usually comfortably above ground, with some islands having mountains that extend up to 1000m (such as Iophelle’s mountains).
Unlike most other regions, sub-aquatic geography and climate is actually worth mentioning, given how people live there. There are strong westerly currents moving in the ocean outside of the island chain’s continental shallows. The shallows themselves are re-enforced by an artificial rock barrier, but the natural currents are not too hostile either.
The aquatic floor is covered in kelp forests. Seasonal plankton booms upkeep a huge amount of bio-diversity. Between islands sit massive artificial channels that help aquatic mega-fauna to move trough the islands.
It is known that most aquatic infrastructure was built by an Allyiscereen.
Fauna
Character Animal: Dolphin
Dolphins have been a social companion to the Domuz ever since their cultures involved being in the water lots. They are incredibly intelligent animals just barely not making it into the “species of person” category by means of not being able to participate actively in society. Many pet dolphins actually have the capability to speak a simplified Seaspeak, but aquatic Seaspeak is an odd language overall, the language as a whole includes synonyms for words in the aquatic dialect.
Name origin
Gazi Lale Darie is based on Ddole in DeMoch. The archapellagos are quite similar to the original homeland of the Kithral, the islands of Gazi. The migratory Kithral Do who landed here adored the similarity of the islands when compared to the landing place of other Kithral tribes, but insisted on a new start from the horrors of the Third Hoxous. The Kithral Do named the islands “water’s land” and the mainland was called “Origin area” possibly in reference to how islands borrow from the mainland. These untranslated are “Shulaeledo” and “Dariddle”. Daklyn borrowed the “laele” in the centre of the first one and “Dari” at the beginning of the second to name the places, ouranxising them into “Lale” and “Darie”. The Islands of Gazi in Wastelife are a thing Daklyn did while hearing about the Kithral migration, he felt that naming this small island chain after the original homeland would be an homage - so he also wrote it to be culturally diverse.
